Anutham: A Unique and Opulent Boutique Hotel in Jammu

Unveiling the Grandeur of Anutham

Anutham is designed specifically to cater to the high revenue-generating banquet halls. The hotel features a large double-height banquet hall of 1200 sq.mt, a spacious lawn of 1000 sq.mt, a second banquet hall on the second floor of about 600 sq.mt, and a 500 sq.mt terrace. Additionally, it offers 25 luxurious rooms and two restaurants, Rumors and Roofjar. The project was meticulously designed to create an aspirational space that captivates the people of the city.

The uniqueness of Anutham lies in its grandeur and attention to detail. The name itself, derived from Sanskrit, means "unique," which perfectly encapsulates the essence of the design. Located in the small city of Jammu, the hotel had to stand out as a high-end venue for banquet functions. The rooms are designed to provide the utmost comfort of a five-star hotel, while the restaurants are crafted to become the talk of the town. The opulent interiors and the spaciousness of the entire property set Anutham apart from its counterparts.

The realization of Anutham's design involved the creation of extravagant spaces. The ground floor banquet hall, named "Mirrors," utilizes mirrors on the walls and ceiling to amplify the sense of space. The first-floor banquet hall, connected to a large terrace, exudes an open area feel with its tensile structured umbrellas. The third and fourth floors house the 25 rooms, with a common activity room in the center. The fourth floor is home to a restaurant that incorporates raw wood finishes and container gates as design elements. The terrace serves as an open rooftop restaurant, providing a unique dining experience.

Spanning across 5000 sq.mt, Anutham is a testament to architectural and design excellence. Its grand double-height lobby welcomes guests into a world of opulence, leading them to the main banquet hall and the lift lobby that connects to the other floors.

The project, which commenced in January 2016 and was completed in November 2018, showcases the result of extensive research. A city-wide survey of Jammu was conducted to understand the prevailing architectural and interior design trends. Based on the findings, the concept of thematic interiors was developed, incorporating the usage of materials to enhance the overall ambiance. The unique displaced porch, featuring a dark grey cladding background with stark white and wood texture finishes, serves as a striking design element that sparks conversations.

Despite the challenges faced during the project, such as the lack of a defined facade and the need to reorganize vertical functions, the team successfully transformed the nondescript block into a visually stunning masterpiece. The bar, originally planned for the first floor, was relocated to the fourth floor, while the second banquet hall found its new home on the second floor. The rooms were strategically positioned on the second and third floors, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the hotel. The addition of a rooftop terrace with a restaurant further enhanced the overall experience. Meticulous planning of services for each floor function was also undertaken to ensure optimal functionality.
